#OneWeek100People2019 Day Five: Play Time!

On the fifth day, I just messed around.
I was clearly not going to reach the 100 goal with what I’ve been doing the last few days – so – I gave myself a pass and just played today.
Clearly, I’ve been out of synch this #OneWeek100People2019.
But it isn’t about me anymore! It’s about the other 1500 sketchers in the FB group! – and I know people have been having a great time over there :)
It’s very interesting how a project I set up to be fun and games – back when sketching was king – becomes so hard for me, now that I’m thinking about oil painting all the time. Very eye-opening. You don’t always know your own mind (apparently). I didn’t anticipate how hard it is for me to change topics.
So what’s a fellow to do!
Seems like the best idea is – paint something FUN :) :)
And start thinking about how to redeem myself next time!

I hope you had a great time with #OneWeek100People2019.
I’ve been following along all the posts on the Facebook page, and I hope to hear from all of you how your week turned out! Thanks for playing our little game :)

I did the 100 people! It was a good thing for me. Yet, Marc, I so get what you are saying. I attempt to do both sketching and painting, I find when I am doing one the other suffers, not a bad thing necessarily but it does happen. Since I am doing workshops for sketching I feel a need to keep skills up there, yet my pochade box is always calling my name. It will be tougher now that weather makes plein air my first choice.
Thanks for giving the rest of us permission to fall short of perfection, too! That’s inspirational as well!

I knew at the outset that I probably wouldn’t do 100 but at least this gave me the impetus to have a go! I’ve only done about 40 or 50, but that’s better than 0. …. and it has been fun! I’m still at the pathetic stage where I feel nervous about sketching in public, so I just watched a couple of youtube docos and stopped the clip when there was an interesting face to paint (which was often)….but THANK YOU SO MUCH MARC for the encouragement – and I love your work! It’s lovely to see you doing watercolor once again! Marylin Smith
I saw the 100 people challenge on Tuesday, so I thought I’d jump in and join the bandwagon, but i certainly did not expect to complete the task. I really surprised myself. Not only did I finish the 100 sketches but developed more confidence along the way. Yay!! On IG I posted my work… instagram.com/timeforsketching Thanks for encouragement!
Now that’s a success story! Great work – Really good to hear!
Only managed 64, but got some good pen and ink practice in. That platinum carbon pen is so damn slippery! Had lots of fun though, and enjoyed seeing your posts again.
